Remember when Barack Obama promised in 2008 a bipartisan approach to governing?  It seems Hillary Clinton could actually fulfill that promise:

Clinton’s GOP supporters expect something in return
Conservatives who abandoned Trump see jobs, access and influence over policy as the reward.

Considering the job of the Cabinet (something lost on many) is to undertake the President's policies - the Cabinet should be about skill and capacity, not party allegiance.

Considering the job of the Cabinet (something lost on many) is to undertake the President's policies - the Cabinet should be about skill and capacity, not party allegiance.

The one Democrat in the initial Cabinet of notably competent and bipartisan George W. Bush's administration was the Secretary of Transportation (Norman Mineta), and he obviously was quite influential.

Note that the Bush/Cheney ticket lost the popular vote and barely won the EC (Thanks, Brother Jeb! Thanks, 5-4 US Supreme Court decision!). Consequently, their administration acted quite cautiously and typically deferred to the Senate, which was evenly divided during the 2001-2003 session of Congress - until, of course, Jim Jeffords switched, giving the Democrats a slight majority.

Anyway, the second Bush administration was a paragon of bipartisanship, compromise, and merit-based appointments. An admirable example! Smiley

Ugh hope this is bullsh**t. The Republican Party's upper echelons are scum and deserve no place in government.

No they won't and shouldn't accept it either.   They'll end up dead like anyone else who has ever done business with them.

You'd think that'd be smart enough to realize Obama's failure to uphold such a bargain should drill some sense into them but no, the allure of 30 pieces of silver is just too much for some.

I'm shocked that Hillary Clinton intends to include Meg Whitman in her Cabinet.
