I never think about that at all. I am amazed that in this day and age, many would care. Now if religious views have public policy implications that are carried over that as to which I take exception, that is another matter. Sadly, it does not go both ways. If I were honest about my lack of religious belief, in most places, that would make me unelectable. Sad!

Voting for a Jew or Muslim would be fantastic. Not sure about a dialectic materialist, though.

Frankly, I've come to the conclusion that calling dialectical materialism a religion is being too kind on dialectical materialism.
At least religions are a coherent thing.

I would never vote for someone who was in an evil cult that was purely set up so the founder could make money. Not going to name it.

That, and I would never vote for a fundamentalist atheist (The Horsemen [even though they are British], Bill Mahar, Penn and Teller, HockeyDude, etc.)

I wouldn't vote for a Scientologist.

It's more about whether their morals and values are the same as mine than their religion.  For instance, I would have no concerns about voting for an Orthodox Jew who shared my values, but there are tons of people running as Christians who don't.

Most likely. I voted for a Mormon in 2012.

Sure, but there are very few people whose politics I like who aren't at least nominally Christian. There's the odd Jew or Muslim who I'd vote for but they are pretty rare.

So, technically yes, effectively no would be my answer.

That's not a religious belief; it's a scam.

I would vote for any person of any faith who I felt was the best candidate.  It wouldn't matter if they were Christian, Jew, Muslim, or agnostic.  It's the issues that are important

Yes, unless they make having those religious beliefs the center of their campaign.

Yes, but it depends on the views espoused and the office involved.
