Alternate 2008 Election

Trump's campaign so far and his reliance on Rudy Giuliani as a surrogate made me think about what if things were different in 2008 - what if both expected primary winners ended up winning.

Hillary Clinton, spiting the base as she does in 2016, picks Evan Bayh as her veep pick, hoping to swing Indiana. Rudy Giuliani, hoping to coalesce a if not completely satisified GOP base, selects big govt. conservative Governor of Mississippi Haley Barbour.

Third parties obviously get more power in this election because of these two choices. Nader gains the official green nom this time and has Barr on his ticket. The Libertarian ticket goes about the same.

Giuliani, easily.

Though, the DEM VP pick > the GOP VP pick in this scenario.
