No, Coakley's didn't campaign for all and took winning for granted in both of her losing campaigns. She also alienated a large contingent of her own party in her 2014 campaign for governor. I not sure what she did to do that, though.

Yes she is and she will continue to be even if she beats Trump.

No, more like Bruce Braley or Mike Michaud, considering her opponent is nowhere near as harmless as Charlie Baker.

Hillary has lost more states than any successful party nominee, ever.

She didn't necessarily alienate her own party in 2014 (the closeness of her primary was likely due to her past record of losing to Scott Brown), it's just that for governor's races, Massachusetts is a swing state. Even though the legislative majorities are so big that a Republican Governor's veto is basically meaningless, the voters still like having it there for some reason.

I have thought Clinton resembles Coakley as a candidate for two years now.

Pretty much no one in US politics could ever be more 90s Bills-y than Williams Jennings Bryan.

2014 wasn't a hugely embarrassing loss for Coakley, aside from the fact that it was the second major loss in a row. 2010 was, though.

I guess you could say that losing a presidential election to Donald Trump is similar to losing a Massachusetts Senate election to a Republican. I guess the analogy would be even better if she is somehow nominated again in the future, runs against Kasich (who is running a great campaign) in a generally bad year for Democrats, and loses by a small margin.

Kinda, though I doubt she'd have lost in Massachusetts. I don't think her campaign is as arrogant as Coakley's was, but it certainly isn't good.

About 30% of her primary opponent's supporters (Steve Grossman) said they'd be voting for Baker if Coakley was nominated.

If this is true that's sad.

I'd say Mike Michaud is more accurate - a race she absolutely had no business losing but ran such a weird milquetoast campaign that it happened and weirdo crazypants won. The only difference is Trump isn't the incumbent.
