In Kander's newest ad, he details his support for background checks while assembling a rifle blindfolded.

This is a really solid add for a Dem to run in such a conservative state

Why? Blunt went from underperforming Trump to over performing him. I'm most worried about North Carolina.

Blunt is unpopular and a terrible campaigner. Don't be shocked if Kander wins here, even if Trump wins MO by 12. Fortunately, Kander is running out of time.

Blunt is not terrible at campaigning. Look at some of the ads he's been running:

I think he will overperform Trump by 2-3 points, won't be enough barring Trump implosion.

I wish Kander ran for re-election as Secretary of State. It would have been a much easier race for him to win and another statewide post held by the Democrats.

Right now it is 50-50 if we keep SoS... but we could elect our first black candidate statewide.

That being said, Kander winning on election night would not shock me.

Clinton and Kander trying to show how tough they are. Just like Bush W did over Kerry.
Along with Clinton capturing Bin Laden, Trump who got deferments in Vietnam is being tied to Blunt who dodged Nam as well.

Kander served in Iraq

I want to believe he has a chance, but this is Missouri we're talking about.

If Kander wins, Missouri will have two very liberal Senators representing them, despite it being a quite conservative state.

Kander's liberal? I mean he's obviously more liberal than the NRA-endorsed Koster or Nixon, but those two are fairly conservative democrats.

Nixon's so conservative that he's lost multiple elections because African Americans would either vote blank ballots or outright vote for the Republican (I think Kit Bond won like 20% of the African American vote against Nixon when they ran against one another). And Koster is a former Republican and retains a solid chunk of those Republican stands.

This was one hell of an ad. And yes, he's a total badass. Best senatorial ad this year, and I think he'll run with it to the finish line. It's not hard envisioning a Trump/Kander voter.

Has nobody raised how good looking he is? Would probably be the most attractive senator too. Wink

one thing about the two major ticket Missouri candidates - they're both guys I didn't expect from their pictures to have deep voices. Koster in particular sounds like he's using voice modulation.

Nixon and Koster are real moderates. Kander is not. And neither is McCaskill for that matter.

McCaskill is a god blessed abnormality in Missouri politics and her voting record has been way better than anyone from Missouri should be, but I have been given no indication that Kander is left wing even to McCaskill's extent just because he's actually defending background checks, which is a policy that 75%+ of the country supports.

^ Kander is to the left of Obama on Health Care and voted for a YUGE state energy tax increase. As Secretary of State, Courts have had to stop him from manipulating language on ballot initiatives to get his preferred result. He also got criticized by the liberal St. Louis Post Dispatch for his inept administration of certain components of the 2016 presidential primary in the state.

Blunt has draft deferments from Vietnam just like Trump. And Kander who served in Iraq just like Duckworth is using against Kirk can tie him to that. When Kirk lied about his combat duty during Desert Storm II

Bond winning 20%? Yeah. African Americans are pretty elastic in the Mideast(MN, IA, WI, MI, IL, IN, OH, and MO). Kasich something like a third of the African American vote in 2014.
