Somewhat of an east-west divide but not very strong considering the amendment passed in the west as well, with very strong results in some counties. The highest percentage for "Yes" was in from Red Willow - 74.42%, while the lowest was in Keya Paha - 43.98%.
One concern was the loss of representation. Nebraska had something like 25 senators and 50 representatives, so in western counties, legislators would be shared with more counties. The referendum was in middle of the depression, and the amendment was sold in part as a cost cutting measure. It also had the backing of US Senator George Norris.
