Carl Bernstein created the buzz, and Restate delivered the buzz. Never a dull moment! Smiley

Wouldn't Johnson have to drop out instead of Weld? Johnson would just choose another VP

It must be that PA poll that caused Weld to tack. Tongue

Would a candidate be taken off the ballot now if they dropped out?

I wonder if Clinton could bribe Johnson with a nice position in her administration if he dropped out. 99.99% likely not going to happen, but still a fun thought. It would probably be easier to do that then to actually win over Millennial-Johnson voters.

Yes, but it would effectively be taking a hatchet to the Libertarian campaign. Having his running mate drop out would make Johnson look ridiculous, and Weld is the one who has been raising money for them to date, so all of that would stop.

If that is true, the Libertarian Party is even more of a joke than I thought.

At the end of the day Johnson/Weld is still going to take more votes from Trump than Clinton.

Weld himself literally said he isn't going to drop out hours before you posted this. Delete this trash thread.

The Hillary Clinton camp once again demonizes third parties.

Bernstein can suck it.

Probably not, unless one died.

In 1968, George Wallace, who made it to the ballot in all 50 states and DC, was late in selecting a running mate.  He finally settled on Gen. Curtis Lemay, but most ballots had as his running mate former GA Governor S. Marvin Griffin, who agreed to be a stand-in until another candidate was picked.

As soon as I saw it was Bernstein I thought, "nah."

It's alarming how he and Woodward basically moved in different directions trying to recreate their glory days.

Please do so, the Libertarian ticket has no chance of winning and a protest vote is not needed this election. Let's make sure that Hillary wins more than 50% of the vote. Currently it doesn't look like that's going to be the case. If the election were held today, she would end up between 46% and 49%.

He said something earlier in the week, but just posting it now, he doesn't seem committed to Johnson.

So he is staying in but wants to focus on Trump.

He was just on CNN and said this....

It seems to me that Weld thought that fellow NeverTrump GOPers would follow him to Johnson and he would help Clinton and he is surprised how many young voters are also coming over, possibly hurting Clinton.
