I agree no change also. It was nothing but a disgruntled American making bombs out of pressure cookers. Nobody was killed so no change.

So a Trump voter?

I guess the Southern Poverty Law Center can put this one in the right wing extremism column then.

I'm kind of more curious if that Reddit thing is going to have legs.

I would have originally said that it would have been a wash, but Trump went on another Florida-esque bragging spree. So, I would now say it hurts him slightly (about 1%).

There's been rumors that Trump actually was the catalyst in the bomber's motive. I don't know if it's true or not.

All extremism is right wing. The left only supports positive movements.

Wait, because he liked Trump or because he hated him?

Was Trump "asking for it"?

After reading this thread, I now understand how the Southern Poverty Law Center comes up with those statistics on right wing violence.

For instance, an abortion clinic bombing.  Committed by anti-abortion activist, so we chalk it up to right wing violence.  Okay.

Now we get this guy, not a right winger himself by any standard, but claims to be triggered by a right winger, so we can easily chalk this up as right wing violence.

Okay, I think I got it now.

"Triggered" by Trump in the same way that so many potential ISIS members would be. You should be scared for a Trump presidency, because this would not be the last time this happened.

Surely an even more significant trigger would be our pluralistic society, freedom of religion, democratic elections, etc.

Would you similarly argue that this is a valid argument against us continuing these institutions?

After all, if you think we should consider Trump's impact on extremists as an argument against Trump, then you must recognize that this will lead you to argue against freedom of religion, free elections and the like.

Um. ISIS's whole narrative for existence is that Muslims are distrusted and oppressed worldwide. How exactly does another country being a democracy aid in that?

It is not that they (i.e. rank and file ISIS) are offended b the idea of foreign democracies. It is that they are scared of us, and fear breeds desperation.

Very good!  It doesn't.

Now take the next logical step to understand that Trump giving speeches also doesn't.

A country being a democracy isn't going to strike fear into the hearts of Muslims worldwide. Trump's rhetoric is, and has actually been used by ISIS.

Is ISIS correct in their interpretation of Trump's statements?  Are their actions justified?
