I myself have been to a political convention (2012 RNC in Tampa), several Anime conventions (all in Florida), a multi-genre convention mostly focusing on a mix of Comics/Anime/Syfy, and will be going to Star Wars Celebration Orlando in April.

Many (normal)

The big ones I've been to are:
National Black MBA Conference
CPAC
Canton Fair
Light + Building

I've also been to academic conferences at Penn State, Dartmouth, Michigan, the University of Denver, and Tel Aviv University, if they count.

Three fraternity conventions. It's fun if you're not on probation with the municipality of Rochester Hills, MI (sophomore year).

I'm a virgin when it cones to conventions. I have no interest in changing my status.

We had a poster for many years who used Walter Mitty as a username, but I think it fits you better.

Cool, am I supposed to know who that is?

I love how much of a bogeyman I've become for the resident communists.

It's the biggest MBA conference in the country and they have a massive career fair that is open to all members regardless of skin color. The career fair is like 70% non-black. They also have legendary after parties (which are mostly black) which can be fun.

Entrepreneurship and innovation. (very Israeli subject) It was in early 2014 so we talked about Waze and some of the other hot Israeli developments at the time. I learned a lot and met some cool people. I forgot who exactly it was, but one guy gave a hell of a PPT presentation that changed the way I do presentations.

Nice. that's awesome!

Most of the conferences I've attended have been political, Jewish non-profits, or Israel-related.

If it counts - I was a member of my high school's tiny JSA chapter (Junior State of America, sometimes jokingly called the Jewish Students Association because the largest chapters almost always had an overwhelming portion of Conservative or Orthodox Jewish members - mainly from New York.)

[It was essentially a national debating club and had no official political leaning, but our region was, as one might assume, firmly left-of-center with a very pro-Israel tilt.]

Great memories from the regional conferences, but precious few at my high school had serious interest in politics and even most of the students in my chapter saw it as more of a social club, which really sucked.  I'm pretty sure it dissolved after I graduated, because no underclassmen had signed up and our teacher-advisor intended to step down the next year.

Is there a meaningful difference between "conventions" and "conferences"?  I've been to loads of conferences.

Other. I have been to 3 Ohio-level and 1 national-level convention of the American Classical League, composed chiefly of Latin students but also students of ancient Greek and whatnot.

I was "at" the RNC in 2016 in the sense that I was in an office at Tower City which was directly connected to the convention and spent a great deal of time interviewing protesters in Public Square, but I did not have a pass into the event itself, though other members of our team did. Unfortunately in the hubbub I forgot to set up my lunch with muon Sad

Cool, am I supposed to know who that is?

It's a well known literary reference. One would imagine that someone as accomplished as yourself would be aware of it. Curious.

Fundamentally the various details that you have claimed of your life do not stack up.
