In a world where prisons have been banned, what should his punishment be?

There should be no punishment for the non-crime as he is our state's greatest hero right ahead of Bruce.

Not if they can't prove his involvement. The prosecutors are playing a dangerous game here, publicly accusing a sitting governor without presenting the proof.

If he's proven to be guilty, then yes, of course.

Both the prosecution and defense are arguing Christie knew. So it will not be questioned by either side in the trial.

Well now it seems a good bet that Christie is indeed the infamous 'John Doe' unindicted co-conspiritor. So while the Feds clearly think he knew about it, they didn't have enough evidence to prosecute him for being part of the conspiracy. That being said, if he denied knowledge of the whole thing in his FBI interview, he could also be charged with lying to law enforcement.  But in the end he will probably never be charged with anything.

That being said, I think this pretty much ends any chance of him being appointed AG if Trump wins. Or him ever having any future in elected office, like running for president again or even for the Senate or being appointed to anything that requires Senate hearings/approval.

Do you think Drumpf gives a sh*t about that the fallout of nominating a criminal as AG will have? LOL

possibly not, but he wouldn't get confirmed.  That being said, I'm sure Trump would find some spot for Christie that doesn't require Senate confirmation. Make him the 'czar' of something or maybe oven Chief of Staff.  I suspect who ever would be Chief of Staff in a Trump admin would essentially be the defacto President, running the executive branch, possibly along with Pence.  I'm sure that would suit Christie just fine.

There probably aren't many New Jersey politicians who don't belong in jail.

Not until Hillary goes to jail for EmailGate/Benghazi/Whitewater/Rose Law Firm/Vince Foster and all the other crimes she got away with.

Haven't really followed the story, but if he knew about it and did nothing to stop it, that implies his approval. Another red flag is how quickly Weinstein replied to Kelly's now infamous "time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee" email and how he knew what she was talking about. The whole thing seems too orchestrated for Christie not to have known about what those closest to him were conspiring, unless their motives WERE to get back at Christie for something.

Yes, for fycking up the chances of ever having Marco Rubio become US president. I don't give a damn about that bridge (the whole story is pretty lol) but I'd love to see Christie getting jail time.
