These riots won't help Democrats, because they'll be blamed for "inciting" tensions. White suburbanites turn out for Trump, and some of them switch from Clinton to Trump, blame the riots. Yes, it's blunt, but those voters care a lot more about their safety than social issues in my opinion.

This sealed North Carolina for Trump.  Apparently, this was a 100 % justified shooting and the Police Chief  (black) is standing behind his Officer.  Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD is a pretty squared away department.  Those idiots are tearing up a really beautiful city for nothing.   The good voters won'tforget it come Nov.  The dems have became the anti-police party.

This thread has gone completely off the tracks, and turned into a debate regarding issues X,Y,Z on the delicate issues regarding police brutality, protesters taking to the streets including acts of property violence and confrontations with law enforcement, etc...

Reality is that this is fundamentally a local issue in a heavily Democratic City and County and has very little to do with decisions that voters will make when they vote in November (or earlier).

North Carolina today, is no longer the state of Jesse Helms.

Race baiting doesn't play the same way that it would have 20-30 years ago.

Trump is already overwhelmingly dominating with voters likely to be motivated as a result of racial animosity and stereotypes and has little room to improve with the old "Jesse Helms Democrat" voters.

In the event that Trump wins NC by just 50k votes, then maybe Charlotte might be the reason, but the reality is that this is likely a non-issue at the Presidential level.
