Johnson and Trump are the only major party candidate. If there is a left wing candidate, it's someone who will finish a distant third.

This would be a very low turnout for minority voters. Johnson would under-perform Clinton in all demographics except for the college educated. That one would most likely be closer.
The only region where Johnson could do better is the western states.
The map would look something like this for a best case Johnson scenario.

Gary Johnson is totally overrated and a really terrible presidential candidate.

436: Gary Johnson/Carl Person
102: Donald Trump/Jeff Sessions

The Green states vary from Tossup to Tilt to Lean Trump. Johnson's more left-libertarian running mate causes progressives to fall in behind him solidly. The Green EVs are 62 in total. Surrogates like Evan McMullin, David French, and Austin Petersen would be his best bet there. People like Brian Schweitzer, Mark Begich, Ron Wyden, and Steve Bullock would be good for him in the West and libertarianish states like Minnesota, the Dakotas, Indiana, and Kentucky. John Monds and Montel Williams would have good appeal to minorities, and Howard Dean would be a good campaigner for him in the Northeast.

Johnson annihilates Trump by becoming the de facto Democratic candidate and still attracting a decent number of defections from the Republicans.

61-39 or so, with Trump winning OK, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, WV and nothing else.

Gov. Gary Johnson (L-NM)/Gov. Bill Weld (L-MA): 60%, 478 EVs
Businessman Donald Trump (R-NY)/Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN): 40%, 60 EVs

I can't imagine no major left wing candidate in a Johnson v. Trump matchup, but if there wasn't one, this is what it might look like.

Johnson would lose sqrt(-1)-535, winning only Aleppo.
