Hello everybody.

For me it's a réal mystery ; why, in 2000,  during the campaign  Bush and  Algore ,
Why Al Gore has refused to check the votes again ?
He  didn't have nothing to loose .

Thank you for your answers .

Simple--all the ballots were destroyed after the election.

Even if he could, he would still lose.  There's virtually no legal method of counting the Florida votes that would have given Gore the election.  Democrats need to get over it already.  YOU LOST.  And no amount of hand-wringing about Nader, the Supreme Court, Jeb Bush, Katherine Harris, butterfly ballots, or "stolen elections" will change that.

In 2001 a sample of about 175K FL ballots were recounted by researchers at the U of Chicago sponsored by a coalition of media outlets. The researchers considered a number of different ways to count questionable ballots. Depending on the counting standard applied either candidate could have prevailed by about 100 votes. Gore didn't need to check the votes again, the race was for all intents and purposes a statistical tie. SCOTUS became the tie breaker, little different than drawing lots as candidates would in a strict numerical tie.

Instead of immediately going after a state wide recount, the Gore campaign went trolling for votes demanding recounts only in heavily Democratic counties.

When it became clear this would not be a valid recount process,  the Gore campaign only then went after a state wide recount, too late.

Bush won the count election night.

Bush won the automatic recount.

The Democrats were simply not willing to accept the result.

Not only that, the networks first called that Gore won Florida, then they retracted that and
called that Bush won Florida, then they moved Florida back into the too close to call column.

The clearly Democratic biased networks were tripping over each other to be the first to call Florida for Gore, ignoring results from the panhandle, which was still voting.

But the Florida panhandle, voting heavily for Bush, had not yet closed for voting when the networks called Florida for Gore.  When the panhandle results came in, Bush won Florida.
