It's hard to say at this point, but he will certainly be reconsidering attending the debates after tonight!

As great theatre as it would be, and as much as he will want to, there is no way he skips.

He's completely crashing and burning.  The audience just burst out laughing when he said he has a better temperament.  This guy is so out of his depth, it's hard to believe.

I wouldn't be surprised it he claims this debate was rigged and that the others will be rigged as well so he'll have an "excuse" for not showing up.

He's already crying on Twitter but Reince Preibus and co. will drag him there no matter what.

Agree.
But I don't know if he will continue to debate.
He did so awful, that he might create some stupid excuses (again) for not doing the next two.

If not for anything else, at least he can use the debate publicity to plug his new D.C. hotel again.

He has a clear record of skipping debates. Not saying he'll skip these, but the precedent is there.

He has no choice but to do the debates. He will be seen as a coward if he backs out

1) Trump can spin reality into anything in his own mind. Give him a chance, and he'll be the heroic standard-bearer of freedom by not going.

2) He can always bail completely, not just on the debates, but the nomination as well.

That was when he was leading by a country mile against the rest of the GOP Primary ilk.  That is not a luxury he can afford this time.

He'll do both. After the clear consensus of a Hillary win in the first debate, he'd be seen as a scared loser if he ditched the later ones.

Yes he will. He has to. Maybe he'll start studying and do better next time.

Do what Hillary took time out to do.

Here's a hot take straight out of the oven boys: there's a strong possibility that he won't because he's Donald Trump. When Donald Trump crashes, he crashes hard. He's going to make a fool out of himself over the next week. There isn't going to be any "damage control". He's going to foam at the mouth all over the place; at CNN, at ABC, at MSNBC etc. He's going to look very unhinged when he does this. The most salient takeaway of the debate is that "Trump cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons" and he's going to solidify this takeaway and dig a hole for himself. If he gets unhinged enough, he might bail out of the debates.

Stop treating Donald Trump like he's a normal candidate. He's not. He's mentally ill and needs to be put in a straightjacket for his own safety and well-being.

Maybe true, but you're forgetting about his ego. He's not going to let it look like he's scared of getting his butt kicked by a girl.

Obviously he will, but the idea that he's going to win them because "Romney won the first debate in 2012" is cute.

When you reject facts and history and the public record like Trump does, "studying" is rather difficult.

It would also mean admitting he was wrong.

More likely is that he'll take a page from the "conservative" wing of the GOP and decide he wasn't Trumpy enough. So NO prep for the next debate, are more "red meat". (For the third debate, he'll try to murder Clinton on stage, then claim he was just "joking".)

If the moderators are Jim Lehrer-like, then I'm not so sure "cute" is what you're looking for.

If Trump skips any of the debates, I'd more confidently say he's out of contention.

He already said that if Hillary wins then he'll support her 100%. He already knows that he might not "win" this time. What does he have to lose by attending the last two debates?

Beacuse it's hackish Atlas and someone may have said something to some MSNBC hack (always objective pro-Trump journalists) that Trump may skip the debates.

So that means, of course, Trump is running for cover, which has happened how many times in Presidential debate history?

Trump, for the record, had no complaints about the job Lester Holt did moderating the debates. But let's not let that get in the way of your derisive narrative, red avatars.
