D, he approached Candy Crowley territory with the "fact" checking.

The questions were designed against Trump.  No immigration or Clintion foundation etc..

If you're a red avatar hack on this board, Lester gets an "A."

But when you moderate a debate, admonish Trump, but not Clinton supporters, fact check wrong and just ask tough questions to one of the candidates, you deserve a big, fat "F."

At least Mr. Holt showed us why he's employed by left-leaning NBC and MSNBC.

Sure, when you hero Mr. Drumpf loses then it is the media’s fault and the system is rigged. Sad you can’t acknowledge he did a bad job.

As I already wrote, Lester was actually too soft on Trump because he let him get away with not answering certain questions.

There was a moderator?

This was the first debate since about 1976 to have applause, btw.

A-

His questions were somewhat favorable to Clinton and he let Trump get away with some b.s. but he was respectful and understood that the debate was about the two candidates and not himself unlike candy Crowley

Hillary was much more ready for this debate. Donald Trump tried unsuccessfully to take over the debate, a high-risk, but potentially high-reward practice. Holt gave Trump a chance, but Trump made a failure of that chance.

For the first time we see Donald Trump attempting to appeal to people outside demographics of core support. At that he failed miserably. He showed himself arrogant, dismissive, and out of touch.

I voted B. He was sincere, calm and firm. I thought he could have been tougher on the interruptions and talking-over (from both candidates - especially Trump). I'm not bothered about fact-checking, Trump had enough rope to hang himself and he took the opportunity to do so.

Seriously?'s actual post: Trump refused to answer a lot of the questions and rambled about nothing related to the topic and lied a lot and was barely called on it. That's not fair!

Both candidates were awful, but I would've liked to see equal time given to Clinton's scandals and dishonesty just like Trump had to answer for his tax returns, comments on women and the like, but we didn't get that. Wasn't a fan of Holt bringing out the women card either at the end. But I'm just not going to be happy with this election and I've accepted that.

Overall I'd give him a C+/B-

Clinton got huge applause at the 1992 debate when he slammed Bush for attacking his patriotism.

He had PLENTY of chances to bring those up on his own with Clinton's answers. He just has no chill, let her get WAY under his skin and acted like a petulant child and basically threw a tantrum.

I voted C, but I might bump it up to a B. I thought he did way better in the back half of the debate than in the first half hour or so, when it seemed like Trump was just trying to steamroll the whole thing, and was mostly able to do so with no pushback.

Holt fact-checked Trump more because Trump disproportionately lies more. I'm glad we finally had someone in the media who applied the correct level of scrutiny to Trump.

Also, lol @ the salty Trump supporters in this thread at Holt and Clinton having the gall to fact check Trump. The anti-intellectual movement in this country that distorts facts as "liberal bias" needs to be annihilated.

B. Overall he was fine, but he couldn't control Donald Trump from talking out of turn. If I was Hillary, I would insist that the next debate have a rule that each candidate's mic will be cut when it's not his or her turn to speak.

Not one question about the clinton foundation, or any detail about the email scandal??? Everyone who isn't voting for sure for either one yet could see how much Holt's helped Hillary, was comical actually.

he had a big chance when addressing Cybersecurity to address Clinton's emails. Any part of the foreign policy portion where he was just yammering and yammering he could've brought up BENGHAZI or CLINTON FOUNDATION. The fact is he's an unprepared candidate.

Trump could have brought up Benghazi or the Clinton Foundation or more about the emails. It's pretty sad that his supporters expect the debate moderator to do their work for them.

A,,, because fact-checking is part of the game.

I think that Lester Holt let Donald Trump be what he is...and once Demagogue Don started interrupting Hillary Clinton such showed what sort of person the Republican nominee is.

Donald Trump could have waited his turn, but he didn't.

D- because he didn't go full on Candy Crowley, but was biased.  Voted F.
