My parents had a handful of tapes they liked to play on long car rides, so I heard a lot of the same songs over and over (they were mostly compilations so it wasn't just a few artists), mostly 60/70s folk rock stuff, Peter, Paul and Mary, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, etc. And this a lot. I had kind of forgotten about it and didn't even know who the singer was for years. I was only reminded of it after riding back from St. Louis and mentioning to the people playing stuff like Rush on the phones connected via bluetooth how this reminded me of my parents playing stuff on long car trips.

Anyway I was reminded of this and looked it up. It's a very Atlas song. Was this Dion guy a one hit wonder or something?

"Was Dion a one hit wonder"? good god tell me you're trolling.

even for your style over substance tastes that's amazing cluelessness.

No it's not. I didn't even know who he was, I only knew of this song and that was only due to my parents playing it.

(That's also why I know that "shot a man in Reno just to watch him die" is a Johnny Cash reference, get references to "Puff the Magic Dragon", etc.)

But LOL, your reaction kind of reminds me of the reactions to that time I referred to Jack Kerouac as "that guy mentioned in the Jawbreaker song "Boxcar"".
