If anything this election has proven that third parties are jokes. Maybe more people would vote for them if they actually knew basic foreign policy or anything else presidents should know.

He was the Governor of New Mexico and cannot name a Mexican President?

New or old, semantics aside, it was his neighbor! He shared a border with them and he has no clue? Even Sarah Palin could "see" Russia and probably knew the Russian president's name Smiley.

Then you just say "I don't respect anyone" and leave it at that. You don't fumble around for a minute and then say "Merkel".

Why would he respect the assclown that embarrassed his country by being a Trump doormat?

Somehow, Weld bringing up technocrat Merkel as his answer is actually worse, at least from a libertarian perspective.

Maybe he doesn't respect any of them. I don't respect a lot of them.

Anyway, his gaffes are minor compared to Trumps and Clinton's policy gaffes.  Some people can't memorize every little piece of trivia.  Doesn't make them stupid.

Are there any world leaders that would be an acceptable answer from a libertarian perspective?

At least when Republicans get asked this, they can just reflexively say whoever the Israeli prime minister is.

it's not "trivia". he was literally asked if he liked ANY leader of another country. Don't you think someone who is going to be in charge of a COUNTRY, that sometimes engages with other countries, should know that much?
