Obama won pretty easily in 2008 and 2012.

Why are the polls so close now?  I get dislike of Clinton, sure.  And I understand some Obama voters might stay home; Obama was the reason they voted.  But the way Trump has acted and talked throughout this campaign should motivate those who elected Obama to get out to the polls and not let the first black president be followed by an utter racist moron.

I just don't get it.  Someone please explain it to me.

Just anecdotally, a lot of the black men in Georgia that I've talked to are not enthused with Hillary. Some say she's promising stuff like a typical politician, she's not Obama, etc.

Then you have idiots like Colin Kaepernick equating Trump and Clinton based on stuff she has regretted long ago

Plus, Sanders went completely overboard in tarring her, and to his most diehard, she is still the devil.

While it's true that Obama led comfortably throughout most of the 2008 cycle, there were a few weeks after the Palin selection (early to mid September) when McCain led in the polls.  In 2012, Obama's lead over Romney in the polls was narrow the large majority of the time.  And for about two weeks after the first debate, the race dropped into a tie.  You should have seen the Democratic panic in both cases.

Blue collar whites in the Midwest who preferred Obama to Romney but like Trump are pretty common. Obama did better with blue collar whites than college educated whites in the Midwest.

Voting Clinton isn't trendy.

Some people would rather vote for the more "exciting" candidate.

Most of these responses are correct, but we also have to keep in mind that babies were born between 1994 and 1998.
