How did Rasmussen end up on election eve in 2012, and also 2014 with Senate races?

They had Romney +1 in 2012 and were terrible in 2014, but so was everyone else.

They were only Romney +1 because Rasmussen is a notorious herder.
Herder? With these numbers?

Wasn't Romney ahead in the national RCP average pretty much from the first debate to a couple days before the election?

Nate Silver was the star of 2012, but Rasmussen was the star of 2008.  They called the race the closest, and even called the iffiest Obama states, particularly NC.

I have a tough time believing Trump's ahead at this point, but I doubt Clinton's ahead as much as some thing.  I remember in 1996 how everyone was predicting a double-digit Clinton win.  It was a disappointment that Bill only won with 49% of the vote when polling showed a bigger lead over and over again.

Its basically Rasmussen vs everyone else but your free to side with Rasmussen.

It is not just Rasmussen. The three trackers are very similar. Perhaps, they are similarly wrong. But I am not going to sleep easily until this election is over.

Dole was not the one-man Dem turnout machine that Trump will be... sorry.

We know why L.A times is the way it is, hence we can exclude it. IBD is garbage and will align with the other pollsters come election day, just like the last 4 presidential cycles(not joking, they do this every time)

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2016/white_house_watch_oct25 Clinton takes a 1 point lead, Trump  has now lost the lead in every single tracking poll.

Here's the problem in that logic: Atlas Dems will always think everything is doomed.

Same poll has Obama approval at +10 which I guess is plausible but I think it is at the edge of plausible.  For Trump to be -3 in an electorate that is +10 for Obama approval is quite a feat for him even if it means defeat.
