I've been thinking this recently. Clinton is the only Presidential nominee who isn't a literal idiot, which should count for something.

Trump clearly.

He took advantage of the poorly educated to become famous (or infamous, if you want to think about it that way).

Well Hillary Clinton seems to be a normally smart person , and the other three are varying kinds of stupid, so I guess Clinton.

Really?  Trump seems a lot dumber to me.  Even in the infamous "Aleppo" interview, once Johnson was told/reminded that Aleppo's in Syria, the rest of his answer name checked the Free Syrian Army and the Kurds.  Does Trump have any idea what those are?  Would he be able to say whether they're fighting for or against Assad?  Trump seems pretty lost on every public policy question.  It's just that, unlike Johnson, he never asks "What is that?" when asked about something he doesn't know.  Instead, he blusters his way through his answers with his 3rd grade vocabulary.

Stein brings the average IQ of the trio down to 10.

So Clinton.

President Luthor was instrumental in negotiating the peace between Aquaman and Wonder Woman. It's a shame it all fell apart under Obummer's watch.

Trump won his party's nomination despite being actively opposed by the GOP Establishment AND most Movement Conservatives.  Hillary had to struggle to win her party's nomination even though the Democratic National Committee cleared the field of all Democrats, leaving only an Independent who caucused with the Democrats and was a self-described democratic socialist.  Despite all that's transpired, he's only 3 points behind a woman whose march to the Presidency was supposed to be almost automatic.

You tell me who's smarter.

Trump's own party doesn't like him much, and he's been behind Hillary in the polls the entire campaign, and you think that makes him smart?

Hillary lacks political talent, but that does not mean that Trump is smarter. I've seen nothing from Trump that indicates a high level of intelligence and sophisticated thinking. He's good at conning people, getting them riled up, and selling his brand. I suppose there is a certain type of intelligence associated with that but overall, I have no doubt that Hillary is smarter.

Trump's nomination was made by possible by multiple factors totally beyond Trump's control.  First, the media salivated over the ratings boost from Trump and gave him $2 billion of free coverage, thus drowning out coverage of the many accomplished candidates who ran.  Second, the field was highly fractured, with Kasich and Rubio dropping out way past their expiration date. The GOP "establishment" was unable to unify behind a single candidate. Third, the GOP primary delegate allocation rules heavily favor the early frontrunner because beginning on the first Super Tuesday, the states are mostly either winner take all or a hybrid winner take most system; the latter allows the popular vote winner to get the vast majority of delegates. This system is totally different from the Democrats, where every state is proportional, which allows insurgents to win the nomination. The combination of these factors allowed Trump to win. He got super lucky. He is not smart in any meaningful sense.

FWIW, I'm a lifelong conservative Republican and NeverTrump.

Clinton is the smartest, as she is the only one knowledgeable enough to be president. Trump, Johnson, and Stein either believe in crazy conspiracy theories, lack the knowledge required to lead America, or are just downright stupid.

Easily more. Clinton is likely at least a 140, while Trump strikes me as a plain 100 at best. If they took an actual test, I wouldn't be surprised to see. Clinton beating Trump by 50 points, which is huge in terms of IQ.

Yeah, it's a pretty unreasonable expectation to expect Trump to actually know basic facts about the countries he wants to bomb. That takes away from all the fun.
