So, it is mid-October and it has 15-25°C because of a lengthy, nice "warm"-wave.

And the Kitzbühel ski resort once again decided to open a 0.5 mile long pist up on a mountain, surrounded by Octoberish green:











The Greens are attacking the ski resort for it, saying it is totally useless and leads to an image problem abroad. You can basically walk around up there right now in a t-shirt:

20-30 years ago, the skiing season would open in early/mid-DECEMBER.

But these greedy ski resort officials have gone completely insane lately, using water cannons already in October and November to put some artificial snow up on the mountains.

Some Austrian ski areas are even so insane to re-build glaciers (!) and turn to Glacierforming:

We can rebuild glaciers? That's it, climate change has been solved!

Maybe rebuild was the wrong word.

Transform like in terraform would be better.

With the CATs, they are shovelling and digging the permafrost snow of the ancient glaciers down from 3.000 m to about 2.500 meters during summer, so they have a better cover (which is getting thinner and thinner each year) for the glacier ski pists there.

Which means not online climate change is destroying the glaciers, but also they as well.
