Duterte has proven his tyrannical, murderous tendencies. Trump has said and done many things that hint at those tendencies, but has not actually done anything as president yet (if ever). Additionally, the US has a long, long history mostly fair democracy, while the Philippines has had a worrying history of authoritarianism fairly recently. Trump might be stopped. I'm not sure if anything short of a coup or revolution could oust Duterte.

Wow, that would be a nightmare of an election. This would probably be one of the few cases in which I'd support Trump, since he doesn't seem as dangerous as Duterte.

Ugh (I actually shuddered). As bad as Trump is, he isn't a murderer and doesn't actively support an extermination campaign within his own country. Duterte is what I expect out of authoritarian states like North Korea, not a country that proclaims itself to be free and democratic. I despise Trump and almost everything he stands for, but I would take him in a heartbeat over Duterte.
