And then Seriously? swoops in to back him up. Totally unexpected there!

This is such a common trend. Trump says something blatantly offensive / nasty or flat out untrue, and his supporters hear it, assume Trump never means to offend or mislead anyone, and reinterpret it so that it suddenly means something deeper and non-offensive.

This is probably why Trump can never say anything to turn his supporters off to him - because they keep making up their own meanings whenever he does say something rude or offensive. It's pathetic. It's obvious what Trump meant.

Actually the "Clinton is gay" rumors have been around for a while. It's probably only a matter of time before Trump himself blurts them out. If things continue to go downhill for him, likely at the town hall debate.
