Yes. I would favor all US aid and commerce to Ecuador being immediately cut, all US companies banned from doing business there, a ban on Ecuadorian citizens from entering the country and the immediate deportation of all Ecuadorian nationals.

has deporting a group of people based on their nationality ever worked to solve any problem, ever?  Like its an awful policy for a variety of reasons and honestly would probably hurt America's case more than help it

As someone with Ecuadorian family members and who knows a number of Ecuadorians and Ecuadorian-Americans, I find this pretty offensive.

I also love how in BRTD logic, banning Muslims from the US because of terrorism is bad...but banning Ecuadorians because of one man is just dandy.

Here's a suggestion.  How about we don't ban religions or nationalities from the US.  Kthx.

So we should punish all of their citizens because of that?

We could make exceptions if they're anti-government dissidents.

But I thought BRTD loves Latin American leftist governments (which are relatively democratic).

Assange is obviously not leftist, as he's supporting Trump and is a Putin puppet. He's therefore right-wing. And thus all other governments that support are right-wing as well.

I'm perfectly happy to let him rot away in the confines of the London Ecuadorian Embassy.  He pissed away what little support he had when he started publishing personal details that put civilians in danger.

With no real support among the people and the hole he keeps digging deeper and deeper, he will eventually be forced out.  Then Sweden can have their turn before he probably ends up in a federal penitentiary for a very long time.

Problem solved.  Without breaking up countless families, irreparably damaging our relations with all of Latin America, and without banning an entire people from our country!

Despicable post, particularly your nonchalant reference to a racist deportation scheme.

I voted yes, but before I read the proposals in the OP.

I support economic sanctions against left-wing radical Rafael Correa's regime until he stops harboring an infoterrorist who is actively hurting US security. I do not support the bizarre proposed actions against the citizens of Ecuador, especially those in this country or seeking to come here.

I say outlandish things in anger. The post above this one probably has the right idea.
