Was reading Midnight's Children and noticed that Agra, the setting of part of the early part of the book, is referred to as a "...Muslim League stronghold..." (page 47). Due to the distance of Agra from Pakistan's boarder, I was wondering if Agra's population reflected a mass exodus as Muslims moved to Pakistan. For the life of me, I cannot find any sort of historical documents relating to Agra's population. Some help?
