Hate speech legislation - approve in principle. Don't approve of all, or perhaps even all that many, instances.
Hate crimes legislation - A hate background to a crime (we're talking mostly assault and battery and such here, I presume) should be an aggravating circumstance. But rather than by new legislation, the problem should have been solved by using the previously existing laws and not demanding maximum penalties pretty much all the time. Anyways the extent of time added in American hate crime legislation is excessive. Take that as a "nay". Smiley
Flag burning - legal. Certainly as far as your own country's flag is concerned. Foreign flags is a bit shady, might depend on circumstances.
Group sex - legal
Sodomy - legal
Gay adoptions - legal
Tattoos - legal
Adult stem cell research - illegal
Embryonic stem cell research - illegal
Emergency contraception - legal. Disapprove of the term, though.
Partial birth abortion - in exceptional cases (incest, life of the mother, you know the works, plus too late for other abortions)

I don't think that if a religious is moving through a crowd of lions it is reasonable to allow someone to run out and exhort the lions to devour him.  By the same token similar exhortations regarding blacks who are near crowds of Southerners, or gays near gatherings of the religious should be viewed more as incipient physical threats than as simple speech.

You should be, though I doubt we'd be able to enforce it very well.  It's really more about declaring it morally wrong and endorsing an ideal form of liefstyle that every American should live up to.
