Let's say some power from on high forces Alberta and Saskatchewan to merge and become one province, with elections to be held shortly.

Rachel Notley leads the NDP, and Brad Wall leads the conservative forces. Who wins? Can Wall "unite the right"?

Riding distribution has Alberta-sized rather than Saskatchewan-sized ridings.  Since Saskatchewan ridings are typically about half the population of Alberta, perhaps Sask ridings can be paired together.
