The Iran deal is like the Panama Canal Treaty.  It's a good thing, but the average person doesn't think so.  It's not a great deal, but it was probably the best deal possible, and it's better than nothing.

The Nobel Peace Prize has suffered a loss in reputation due to the number of highly political choices the committee has selected.  I'm not overly down on Obama, but awarding him the Nobel Peace Prize was a bit much, and most Americans think so.  Indeed, many Americans would view such a thing, if true, to be an attempt to sway our election.

It was bad enough Kissinger won it, but having Gore win against much more deserving candidates and Obama being given one just because he wasn't George W. Bush at that point (without dismissing the later merits of his Presidency), I'm unsure why the prize has credibility at all.

Funny thing is that Obama was nominated shortly after taking office.

A good indicator that it is a joke is the fact that we've heard of so many of the winners.

If this pans out, it'll mean that every Democratic nominee from 2000 onwards will have won the Nobel Peace Prize. Don't we have the best party, folks?

It may be good for the Democratic Party, but not good with military leaning voters.

I stopped viewing this as something important after Obama got it for doing literally nothing besides be popular in Europe. Prizes in literature, science, etc matter but not this one.

International elitist socialists want to arm our enemies, destroy Israel, and ruin America, as always.  Sad!

A lot of people criticize the Time Person of the Year award, but Time usually gets that one right...if one remembers that it's intended for the most important/influential person as opposed to the most admirable.

What on earth did Clinton have to do with the Iran deal?
Pretty sure she and her staff at State negotiated a good deal of it and Kerry came in, hammered it home, and closed the deal

I stopped caring about the Nobel Peace Prize when a woman who got both her arms and legs broken saving thousands of Jewish babies from nazis got beat by Al Gore for a slide show on global warming.

It's dissapointing indeed Irena Sendler didn't receive the prize.

It's not even difficult to be nominated, since there are so many people (thousands) who can make nominations: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Peace_Prize#Nomination

For example, all members of national parliaments can make nominations. So it's not hard to believe that a Democratic Congressman or Senator would nominate Kerry & Clinton.

Heh, I remember a right-wing Norwegian MP actually nominating Dubya.
