    I think it is a fine idea. Regional politics is something important and our national parties don't always do a great job of reflecting the divisions that exist at the regional level. In the South there are strong libertarian and conservative factions in the Federalist Party and also in other smaller parties. This divide is a source of much interesting discourse and something that should be explored further.
