Good job on winning that presidency!

Thank you very much. It wasn't easy and only possible in that, while I lost some votes on the Left to the Green candidate(mostly liberal Democrats/Independents), I received significant support from Republicans (around 15% nationally), moderates (around 65% nationally) and conservatives (around 20% nationally). Independents in the states I won, broke pretty heavily in my favour

Word is it that the GOP will likely win Colorado narrowly and I'll win Iowa. New Hampshire is close and North Carolina is on a kinife-edge, I expect a full recount

Update:

Colorado has declared for Cartwright/Logan (R) and Iowa for Gray/Afleitch (D)

Both New Hampshire and North Carolina are going to a full recount. I have decided to abide by the result of them win or lose

I have given my victory speech paying respects to my opponent and to President Bush. I have thanked all those who supported and voted for me and expressed my delight that is my wife's home state of Virginia that took me over the 270

My wife, Lucy and I, have informed our nearest and dearest have, bring you the very joyous news that she is pregnant and it's not just one presidential baby - it's triplets Smiley

The recounts in New Hampshire have been completed and all results certified. I win New Hampshire 47.7% to 47.6% - but North Carolina votes my opponent 49.22 to 49.18 (bleeding Greens getting 1.6% there)

Final map:

Full results to follow

A hearty chat with the out going Vice President and it's just a few short months to the inauguration and the joyful sound of 'Hail Columbia.' Spending the night in Philadelphia after the victory rally with President-Elect Gray pacing around the governors office. This 4 hours in bed these past few months have drained me....

It's been hard work for both of us but we're home and dry winning very comfortably indeed Smiley while, the GOP licks its wounds and contemplates its future. Expect a showdon between its liberatarian-conservative wing and the Religious Right (its more 'populist' wing). The loss of support from moderates and Independents have left them reeling

I have met with President Bush, Senator Redman (Dem leader) and Senator McConnacht (Rep leader) - with Speaker Harrison (R) and House Leaders in attendance - to let them know that the Secretary of State/Defense/and UN Ambassador portfolios will be offered to competent, and moderate, Republicans; however, I've made it perfectly clear to them that if and when Supreme Court vacancies emerge - no overtly partisan or ideological person (either way) will be nominated. The same goes for Federal Courts

The results are almost fully certified and I can't wait to see the final results

We are the United States of America and 'united we shall be'. Ideological folly will not be the hallmark of a Gray Presidency

Not far removed from my own predictions. It's certainly possible that the Greens taking away liberal votes would cost me Nevada, New Hampshire and Oregon (all states where I think my populism, however moderate, may work against me). While in Virginia's case, that's just me being optimistic Wink and banking on moderates overwhelmingly breaking in my favour.  Texas is close because the Independents who heavily supported Bush have no real enthusiasm for my Oklahoman rival, while Catholic Hispanics are trending Democrat; however, had I been a social liberal - Texas, and indeed, virtually all the South,  wouldn't have even been close. I'd have struggled in Georgia (my 'home state'), Arkansas (heavily populist) and Florida (moderate) - the southern states, which I believe would support me more heavily than others. Throughout the South as a whole, I've secured the support of roughly 15% of Republicans and 20% of conservatives, with Independents and moderates breaking in my favour roughly by 3 to 2 and 2 to 1

As well you would have those 20-30% Registered Democrats in those states that almost always vote Republican in Presidential elections.
