The CNN VP debate poll in 2012 had Ryan winning by 4 I think.

Eric Trump stepping over Pence's performance by bringing up Trump's taxes and focusing the media on that

CNN has been sucking Pence's dick the entire last hour, so a 6-point advantage isn't that meaningful.

Seriously CNN, wtf with putting a focus group in Tim Kaine's hometown?
They aren't called the CLINTON News Network for nothing. But even they couldn't rig their flash poll.

Trump calls them that because he's a toddler and saw that the letter C in CNN is also the first letter in Clinton.

And they don't rig their flash polls. their poll matched all other reputable polls in the first debate showing Donald being defeated epically.

Networks taking Pence to task over his blatant denials of actual, proven statements he and Trump have made. Nice to see high quality video of both saying the very things Pence denies juxtaposed against his denials from the debate. The Clinton Campaign has so much material for new ads depicting Pence's amnesia and casual non-defense of his running mate.

eeh... Pence/Kaine debate was likely a draw overall in terms of the Presidential Race, so I doubt this will impact the 2016 Race, although Pence's stock likely will go up for 2020 Republican Presidential Primary.

More from CNN poll:

Better grasp of issues? 48-41% Kaine
More likable? 53-37% Pence

CNN: Who defended their running mate better?

Kaine 58
Pence 35

That's the most important metric in a VP debate since hardly anyone votes for the VP. 99.5% of voters vote for the President

Yikes, that's an awful number for Pence and why I think Kaine won.

Pence would have won if it was a Presidential debate but the VP debate requires a completely different role, which Kaine nailed decisively

Pretty much a draw, lean Pence.

Kaine was kinda know-it-all and constantly interrupting Pence (probably making him less likable for people at home).

Pence was a bit more laid back, but also slightly condescending and arrogant.

Didn't do much to change the race though.

The debate seems to have had no effect on prices at PredictIt. Trump is down a penny for the day and Clinton is up a penny.

people keep talking about how this helps pence for 2020 - seriously? the guy will be out of politics for four years and i would think the party would want to move on from trump, not nominate the guy who ran on the ticket with him...this was pence's last time in national politics before moving on to fox news. maybe he takes over for brit after inauguration?

This number is why I believe Hillary Clinton is pleased with Kaine's performance, whatever his shortcomings in other areas.

The Trump sample was D+15. That's a little extreme.

The joke about CNN goes way back to the first Clinton administration. Trump had nothing to do with that.

Clinton would still have won easily by double digits even if the poll was more republican

And that is arguably a good thing. He won't have to make controversial votes or sign anymore controversial laws. He can spend his time in IA and NH building a network and siphoning off some of the Evengelical support that Cruz would be depending on.

Also, numerous candidates are going to want to tap into Trump's support in 2018 without wanting to come into photo snapping distance of Trump. This will almost certainly make Pence the top sought after surrogate for Republicans running in 2018.

Pence has pissed off the business community with his anti-gay laws. He is also the opposite of Trump stylistically so I find it hard to believe that he will attract the support of many trumpkins.
The guy has Pawlenty Redux written all over him.

I loved Kaine, he is way more qualified than Hillary & so much more prepared. I don't agree with his policies but I have seen people like Biden, Clinton & Obama debate but no1 is better on substance than Tim Kaine.

There was nothing he didn't do when it comes to Substance & every major Trump flip flop - From Deportation Force, the punishment of Women, Putin ties, Trump foundation attacks & so on - Every mistake Trump did, Kaine hammered & linked it to Pence.

My favorite part was the Iran deal which he brilliantly defended against a bunch of lies by Republicans. The idiot Hillary is always on the defensive on defending good policies - She brought it once. Kaine hammered the Iran deal on Pence's throat 3 times including quotes from Israel. The best part was Kaine brought Bin Laden 2-3 times atleast & that was a major success.

Pence is a tremendous guy in tone, delivery. He is a piece of sh** very clever lying politician & a very good debater who dodged every question, he didn't answer 1 single question & didn't fall into any bait.

The only problem with Kaine is his voice is slow, he has a bad low energy pitch, he has little charisma, he is like a vanilla midget who connects with no1 emotionally & can't bring major votes.

But I think he is a better candidate than Clinton as he is solid on substance, looks earnest & is not hated that much!
