Actually, to ask a question about the possibility of a filibuster-proof Senate majority, but I had read some timelines in the what-ifs before (and was really confused by the colors)!

I believe I lurked here as a guest in around 2013, and was confused by the colors. When I joined in 2015, it was because of Election What-ifs.

International Elections. There aren't many forums with a wide-ranging and well-informed international section.

I first visited Dave Leip's US election atlas for the presidential election of 2000.  I checked in here pretty often for maps.  I do not remember whether a forum existed at that time, and I know I didn't look for one, but I visited the site from time to time that year.

A few years later, when the election season started heating up again, I came back to The Atlas for information.  At that point I discovered a forum.  I suppose I lurked for a while in December of 2003 before actually joining it in January of 2004.  I do remember specifically why I joined it.  It was to correct a misinterpretation or a misleading statement by one of the members.  That post has long since been deleted, but had it not been for the misleading post I probably would have just continued lurking.

I think I mostly just posted in the presidential election of 2004 section during that first year.  Back then there weren't so many boards.  Also there was only one moderator:  Dave Leip.  There were no death points either, or "reported posts."  If you did something inappropriate you'd just get a polite email from Dave Leip that said "Angus, please refrain from drunken, emotional diatribes on this forum. Thanks, Dave Leip" or "Angus, please do not post links to pornographic websites on this forum.  Thanks, Dave Leip"

Mostly the first 4 (note to n00bs: "Presidential election process" was not in that section at the time).

For discussion about Congressional Elections. TBH I'm following House and Senate races more than the Presidential race.

I lurked and I think technically joined in 2010, and started posting regularly in 2011 for Individual Politics.
