The best thing for them is this came out on a Friday evening in the midst of a hurricane.

Yeah they should've waited till tomorrow. the NYT story last week was perfect timing. Trump simply cannot afford another damaging week of news cycle.

He's done. I don't think even Pence would pretend to say he never said this.
Is that a challenge?

My feeling is this originated with the Clinton campaign. And if it did, it shows that they probably have the whole month choreographed with a drip of new leaks.

I wish. Having Pence on camera denying this would be perfect. And yeah, the debate is Sunday. This story has legs, especially thanks to the video.

Jeb Bush had a $100 million, he must have spent none of it on oppo Trump research.

I would say the chances of Clinton having this audio and sitting on it until release were 99.9%

Most probably. There is surgical precision in the way white women are being targeted.

But you never know , Wapo has done some great investigative reporting this season, especially Farenthold and Eichenwald

Just watched it and, while it will move like hotcakes on the networks, I don't think it will hurt him with his supporters. To be honest, it will probably help him, as he comes across and behaves, like a regular Joe. Other than lewd language, he doesn't do anything inappropriate, and Bush is certainly playing along, if not outright goading him.

Where it will hurt him is with independent women voters.

And, I  think he has said and done far worse in this campaign.

But frankly, he is done anyway. Short of a story breaking that Clinton was having a lesbian affair with Putin's girlfriend, while sending classified info on an open server to the Iranians, nothing can save Donald.

Obviously this won't hurt him among his supporters. They're long gone. No one cares about them and the Clinton campaign isn't trying to win this election by peeling off their support. But this is very damning for the rest of voters, the vast majority of them.

as long as much more women  than men are voting, those stories are destructive.

It's not a crushing knockout blow with all supporters, the WWC will eat up the line about how it's just "banter", but it kills him in perhaps the key demographic this election.

This would end Trump if it was 1955. It is not though. This is barely even a story. Attacks over this will probably make him even more popular with men.

So is Paul Ryan still appearing with Donald tomorrow or will Bill Cosby stand in?

My feeling is that we haven't even reached half of the nasty things he's done to or said about women. We're probably just beginning to approach the surface of it.

The obsession with white work class voters obscures the reality that they are unlikely to turnout in historic numbers and that white college educated voters are much more important.

Why didn't Jeb Bush spend any of his 100 million on opposition research  when it was apparent that Trump was the frontrunner. Amateur hour at the GOP

Trump was having this conversation with Jeb's cousin, so I could see Bush maybe holding it back? But yes it should have been found by Rubio, Cruz, someone, anyone...

Okay, I take back what I said about Clinton not having a shot at winning Texas.  Trump's campaign is going off the rails.

He's probably going to do a Jimmy Swaggart--just to keep his floor.  Otherwise, all that's left are the deplorables.

His supporters are a lost cause. Like Trump himself said, he could shoot someone and a core group of 20-30% of voters would praise him for a good aim.

But there are college educated whites who will find it hard to square their support with this news. Without college educated whites, it will take a biblical proportion of non college educated whites to turn out for Trump so he wins the election. There is no indication yet that this is happening
