Yes, and while I think he's stupid and will stay in I wouldn't be totally shocked if he resigns tomorrow morning.

I don't believe that he believed this "since day 1."
Because that means he knew this would be one big debacle before even getting into it, and that would make him a fool.

Another laughable Atlas poll. They are coming fast and furious tonight.

Thanks for your "concern" about a candidate you were never going to vote for to begin with!

Not an option after the VP debate where he lied repeatedly to defend Trump, surely? If he left now it would just be craven.

LMFAO. Looks like someone is in shambles tonight. I bet you had to wipe tears away when typing this haha.

Ah, the sweet, sweet taste of Trumpist tears.
If by "shambles" and "crying" you mean laughing at all you concern trolls that were never going to vote for Trump to begin with, you're right.

This place is as bad and pathetic as DU tonight. Where's the one "megathread" like when something bad happens to your Queen rape-defending Hillary?

He wants to, but he can't due to career reasons. He'll never be elected to anything again if he did.

Resigning on a ticket is a position you can't walk back politically, ever.

He'll keep his head down and hope some other major controversy takes over the news cycle. I don't think he will resign , even though he may have discussed it with his team

No. If somehow Trump steps down, he (Pence) could find himself President. That's got to be an incentive to stay on.

Also, after his 'strong' (lol) debate performance he can persuade himself that he was the one doing everything properly, and that he was the one looking presidential with an eye on 2020.

I doubt it. But I think he knows that he should have run for governor again. Now he's unemployed next year. And he knows it.

Pence led a poll for the 2020 republican nomination last week. If he just ran for re-election he might have lost and that probably would have ended his career. Even if he won he would be a random 61 year old nobody who would struggle to get in the debates in 2020. Now he has an actual shot at being the republican nominee in 2020. He can spend the next couple of years on fox news before announcing his presidential campaign. I don't think he'll actually be the 2020 republican nominee btw.

He led it barely. In four years, he'll be out of business for a couple of years. A lot can happen. Nobody saw Trump coming, even when he entered the race and surged to first place in the polls. So I'm very cautious with such predictions.

Any sane person would do. Pence seems pretty sane to me.
