He's the one who never endorsed Trump. Poor Cruz, haha.

All Republican voters will remember in 3 years will be "refused to support the nominee = Helped Hillary become President".

Sasse never endorsed him either.  And it's quite possible that either Lee or Amash will run in 2020, and they never endorsed him either.

Not sure how big of a deal this will be in 2020. Of course, as Donald Trump himself showed, you can win the nomination even if most people don't approve if the opposition is splintered in the right ways. Hard to see Kasich win in a one-on-one against someone more conservative, but it's not that difficult to see it happen if there are many Trump-successor wannabes and only Kasich on the opposite side.

The Republicans need to rearrange their primary schedule. Democrats know African American always vote for whoever the party wants so they always vote first in the primary. Republican need to have New England and west coast vote first not Iowa and the south. Democrats will be in the same place if we let states like Vermont, Washington, or Alaska vote first.

Considering we're talking about the Republican primary electorate here, no.

Sadly this. Sad, because Johnny is a good man.

Any chance the Republicans change their primary system? Maybe some super delegates?

lol. Kasich couldn't even get moderate Republicans when it was just between him, Trump and Cruz.

Of course, by the time it was down to those 3, Kasich was already in 3rd place, and had only won his home state, whereas both Trump and Cruz had numerous victories.  If it had only been Cruz/Kasich/Trump from the beginning, I think Kasich would have done better.

I just don't think many Republicans want to vote for Kasich. Like with Huntsman, the media/non-Republicans like him because he seems relatively moderate and centrist, but GOP primary voters aren't interested in either of those things. He'll also be 68 in 2020.

I doubt he can manage to get an electorate the majority of which voted for Cruz or Trump, but his efforts have been admirable. Everyone laughed at his candidacy and at him not dropping out, but turned out his strategy was actually very smart- from just a random governor he became one of the more popular and well-known Republicans, a very desireable endorsement. I think this will put him in a stronger position in 2020, at least.

I think the GOP will learn their reason when it comes to an extremist candidate & won't pick Cruz. Cruz has abandoned the base & lost connect with political expediency. Even Glen Beck is on a rant against Cruz, not that it matters.

Kasich has a strong chance in 2020 & if he is the candidate, he will against HRC in a landslide!

After todays revelations I don't think anybody who has endorsed Trump will be able to run ever again. Kasich meanwhile never endorsed.

Kasich is personally my 2nd choice now, even ahead of Donald Trump, but I have zero expectation of him getting very far.

He broke his promise about supporting the eventual Republican presidential nominee; he's not happening; the Trumpista wing of the GOP will go for Pence and besides Pence is the next in line.
