Normal nuclear physicists. Alpha, beta, and gamma are still in common use even though they are known to be helium nuclei, electrons, and photons respectively.

I have two cats and one is very dominant and the other very submissive (and virtually always act that way). I have used those words in that context, but that's it.

In terms of human beings, I don't have a high opinion of people that use those words in that fashion.

I use the words when talking about the pack of mammals that makes up my house, but it's 98% jokes and only around the pack.  I would never EVVVVVVer </Jericho> call someone a "beta" publicly (or call myself an alpha).

And "beta" was a pretty kicka^& Battlebot (Brits have an interesting way of pronouncing that word)
