This thread is for the upcoming analysis and polling and reaction from pundits and focus groups.  So not what you think, but what others are saying.

CNN pundits are saying things like "Trump stops the bleeding" "Clinton wins on points" "it was a draw"...no real consensus except noting how strange it was for Trump to throw Pence under the bus.

Yeah CNN and MSNBC spinning it as "Trump killed it with his base, but was still awful for literally anyone else and the soundbites are gonna kill him."

Also said it's much harder for vulnerable Republicans.

"Was Donald Trump's apology video effective?

• 16 Yes
• 11 No
• 3 No opinion"

That alone should tell you this focus group wasn't really impartial.

The audience and focus group are in Missouri, which would explain why they cheered so much for Trump throughout the debate.

It's Wash U, though; that's Missouri's elite private university. Probably a more liberal student body than you think.

Didn't Luntz's focus group also thought that Trump won the first debate?

Some talk on CNN about how 3rd world dictator-like it was for Trump to suggest jailing his political opponent.  With some shade on him not understanding how special prosecutors work.

The way Giuliani is sounding on MSNBC, that's not the sound of a guy who thought his candidate won

And CNN had him up by like 6 after that debate. I think Clinton probably won by about half the margin.
