Having one Democratic pollster and one Republican pollster is a well-established standard in newspaper and media polls. I also think we focus too much on the party ID of reputable pollsters when they're polling for neutral organizations. Even partisan pollsters can (and usually do) produce fair work under these circumstances. It's internal polls, which are often released because they show a specific result, that are the real problem.
At the end of the day, basically every pollster votes and has an opinion, so to presume anyone with a candidate preference (or professional alignment) must be "nudging" the numbers, gets a little absurd.
