There's a certain segment of the Democratic Party that thinks that religion as a whole is bad, that any hint of Christian-inspired morality, policy, symbolism, language, etc. in American life needs to be purged, and that those who believe in Christianity are foolish.  At least, that's the perception of most Christians on the right.  And let's be fair, there's definitely something to it.

Lately there's been a rise in churches that pander to liberal youth by saying, "we're the cool church.  We're the tolerant church.  Come to us if you're tired of the Republicans in your church."  And you go there and every sermon will be about how God loves whatever minority/LGBT group, or weed.  The two things liberal millennials care about.  It's pretty lame, what's supposed to be a completely separate and very important part of your life (and it is to me), has just become, for a lot of left-leaning youth, just another extension of their oh-so-important political identity.  They can't read the new testament without thinking about how it relates to the 2016 election or whatever.

It's a shame.

I mean, yes, all pornography that is legitimate and doesn't involve any type of exploitation that involves performers who are capable of consenting to be involved should not be banned no matter how little it does for society. Regardless of the content of the second sentence or the use of the word "fascist," I hope the reason that this post is in here isn't about his rightful belief that pornography in general should never be allowed to be banned.

Although I do disagree with his position, the post is here not because of the substance of that position but because muh porn is apparently such a moral shibboleth for him that he calls people fascists for disagreeing with him. That should be reserved for disagreements involving things like racial hatred and banning speech critical of the government.

NY had slavery until 1827.  And guess where slaves were the highest percent of the total population in 1700 in what became the US? Yep, you guess it, Long Island, where about 50% of the total population were slaves. LI is the northernmost reach of the Tidewater belt where the soil conditions and the flat topography, made slavery more economically more profitable. So much about the story of slavery is about following the money. Humans do horrible things for money.
