Very similar to me.  I actually dislike Trump as a person and all things equal prefer Clinton policies overall when compared to Trump but will vote for him for being anti-PC.  Also I want to vote for White consolidation.

Is he a West Virginian?

A bloodbath favoring the Republicans, or a bloodbath against the Republicans?

We do have to face this reality: Progressives have the natural right to have their side in charge. Nature is progressive. To enforce a progressive agenda is Nature's way.

Creepy.

No kidding ... Bandit actually kind of scares me, which I'm sure is a badge of honor among his friends "on the ground."

"Pro-business" means you want government to put its finger on the scale. That is neither conservative nor consistent with true free market individualism.

No it means you are promoting innovation , job creation , and a better economy in general.

Small Business is responsible for nearly all economic growth in this country not the government . The only way that is possible is to deregulate and reduce taxes for small business which by the way is a pro business policy. But im sure you wont understand that knowing you think Carter was a better president then Reagan
This is what I am talking about when I claim that conservatism is basically a feeling, not an ideology.
A trump supporter criticizing ideological incoherence and stances determined by gut feeling. The total lack of self awareness is breathtaking.

The post is good, the overwhelming hypocrisy doesn't at all invalidate that.

Uh, sure it does...

France has better food, a better government, gives its citizens more freedom, has an infinitely better culture and has the greatest city in the world.  The fact that this is even a contest and a frozen hellhole of human rights violations run by a dictator (not to mention a country that spend decades as our sworn enemy and is clearly trying to get back to such a status) is close to France is mind boggling.

Theocracy above all else, right guys?!

MUH FREEDUMB over MUH COMMUNISTS

I know 90% of your posts on this forum are one liners about politicians you hate or mocking someone's post with "MUH _____," but seriously what on Earth does this even mean?  For one, yes, giving your citizens basic liberties and freedoms is inherently better than communism in my view.  Duh.  However, the more mind-boggling part of your response is that I listed several reasons that I considered France a more endearing country than RUSSIA (LOL, seriously, what the hell is this thread?!), and you chose to ... well, type what you did.  Just strange.

France is a gorgeous country with kind people (actually met several of them on multiple visits rather than rely on hearsay from Americans who were probably rude to them first and/or made ZERO effort to respect the fact that they were guests in a foreign country and just walk up and start speaking English), a rich culture and a marvelous city in Paris.  If that makes me a "corporatist" or "statist" (seriously, Santender, what are you smoking these days?), then those words mean absolutely nothing at all, LOL.  Paris has an "it" factor and an atmosphere about it that struck me as truly special compared to other cities I've had the pleasure to visit.  As corny as it sounds, the movie "Midnight in Paris" (which is hilarious and awesome) and Hemingway's writing about the city (why do you think all of our badass American writers and actors hung out in Paris in the Roarin' Twenties?!) actually do capture the essence of the city pretty well.

I'll accept ignorance to ... Russia ... but this shouldn't be a competition.

Go ahead and articulate what about my post was absurd, ignorant, bigoted or - this one should theoretically be the easiest for you, pal - "just plain awful."

Probably. It usually never ends well when I'm unmedicated.

So ... take it.

I'm heavily medicated as well and, even though Wolverine is still a miserable Hitlerite cur if what he was saying reflects his actual views (hidden or otherwise), I have to defend him in that it's often not nearly as simple as just 'take it', especially for someone with executive dysfunction and/or a complicated med regime.

I'd be interested to hear more about this, in complete seriousness.

And Santender, I'd describe myself as ignorant on the issue, rather.  Maybe I'm being too kind to myself, but I don't think I'm coming from a lack of empathy (a word you wouldn't comprehend if it smacked you in the face).

This is what I find funny about this forum.  Everyone keeps thinking I'm aggressive, yet all I do is make posts and just say what I see occurring with different people on the forum.  I'm very perplexed why people keep up with this.  I've seen no change in my demeanor, nor has anyone I personally come into contact with.
Alas, some things will elude me, since no one wants to try and explain what changed with me and just keep trying to pile on.

Maybe stop calling people you're arguing with "Honey." It comes off as condescending.

Uh, and it's just really creepy.

Even without context, RINO Tom (Who I assume Rino TROLL is) voted for Clinton, IIRC.

LOL, I did vote for Clinton.  NSV hates me because I pointed out that college educated Whites, wealthy Whites and even suburban Whites are still Republican groups.  He did NOT like that, especially when I got facts involved.

I wouldn't describe Santender as populist ... he seems just to not like politicians who seem to tell him what to do on the cultural front.

Note that this was said by a Democrat from rural New Hampshire, lol:

Texas most definitely does not fit the Republican Party.

It has a huge educated population, is quite urban, very diverse, and benefits greatly from globalization.

There are way too many factors in the modern day that makes Texas an outlier in today's Republican Party.   10-15 years ago it probably would've been perfect though.

I'd probably say either West Virginia or Arkansas perfectly fits the modern day Republican Party.

Obviously one of Non Swing Voter's monikers. Smiley

Write-in: Ronald Reagan was not a race-baiting, anti-intellectual who ran a corrupt administration

aren't you a Trump supporter tho
I also admire Nixon, Wallace and LBJ, all of whom were all of the above. I'm just saying that both sides have whitewashed Reagan's legacy and turned him into an abstraction that borders upon deification.

And no, I never claimed to be a "true Republican"... why would want to be that? I happen to be aligned with the GOP on almost all of the issues, but I abhor the party itself and most of its politicians.

Dude the reason Reagan is so liked is that he was the most successful president at least in the past 55 years, not because Republicans think he is a demi-god  .

Santender, we get you're a Democrat at heart, but how is this absurd, ignorant or deplorable?

You can't be religious without being a hypocrite...though Evangelicals are the worst

Fits all three adjectives quite nicely, really.  A shame, as I thought this guy came off smarter than that.

If he's a troll, he's an absurdist genius and therefore still fits in this thread.

For all his faults, I think it's fairly obvious ER isn't a troll.  He just seems like he was super, duper influenced by his upbringing.  He reminds me of the song West Nashville Grand Ballroom Gown by Jimmy Buffett, LOL.

I know people are gonna groan, but if I go by the original question in the topic. No, run Tulsi Gabbard at the top of the ticket and balance it out with a solid VP Pick. Gabbard has crossover appeal to snag GOP voters. At the end of the day, the Democrats have to run against him in 2020. His foreign policy is horrendous and he's the person who represents us as a country to everyone else's world leader. It's embarrassing, Trump is a clown with a clowncar.
Just because you disagree doesn't mean it belongs here.

Are you double quoting this to agree with it or putting it in here as an absurd/ignorant/deplorable post? Tongue

The first part is true, though. If you have a negative social (or economic) score, you cannot call yourself a conservative.

Assuming we'll hold economic scores to the same test?

LOL, yeah, I had a very rough personal Sunday and got a little testy.  I'm really not a very classist person in real life, and when people actively try to make me feel like I don't belong in a party that I was proudly a part of long before they were, sometimes I can get a bit personal in trying to "outdo" them.  My bad!

I feel a tad betrayed. Tom used to be kinda chill with the classism.

I mean what he said is literally your screen name though...
It is different when I use it towards myself in a self-deprecating sense given my background and upbringing.

Yes, it is.  Sorry, SG!

Can't we have a TNVol/Vosem ticket instead?

As long as Vosem doesn't have any influence in picking SCOTUS justices (or supports picking pro-life ones only), I support this.

-I disfavor the banning of all abortion (or worse, selectively banning the abortion of the unfit, as in Pence's Indiana), but I strongly support overturning Roe v. Wade, Brown v. Board, Obergefell v. Hodges, and other feel-good Constitution-shredding decisions. My favorite Supreme Court Justice currently is Thomas. I completely oppose a living Constitution, which is nothing more than a dead one unmoored from the text.

Adding to his legend.
