If things continue at the current rate, I imagine Trump will do anything in his power to make the election apear illegitimate. One tried and true tested in semi-democratic and lean-authoritarian countries is to simply tell your side not to vote to de-legitimize the results. Might Trump try something similar here, and what would be the result if he did?

Haha that'd be amazing. It might make some of his supporters stay home and ensure a Democratic House.

But I don't think he'll do it. He is just gonna whine and whine.

I don’t think so, though I wouldn’t completely exclude it. The Trumpster is totally mad. He has proven this more than once. However, it would be useless, since there is no minimal turnout.

I don't think he will so I voted no.

The obvious result if he did would be an even bigger Clinton landslide than if he didn't.  Also, since his supporters are likely the same ones who would probably support candidates from the majority party in congress, having them boycott might have the effect of handing over control of the congress.

You'd end up with both elected branches of government controlled by Democrats.  Delicious irony would be visited upon the Make America Great Again primary voters, wouldn't it?

Yeah, I spent $100 million of my own money. Just don't vote. Trump is on record saying that if he loses it will be "wasted time."

Come on now. Seriously?

Well, in contrast to the above, I think this is highly likely, or maybe just a complete withdrawal from the race with a couple of days to go - anything to make him say that he didn't actually lose.

Because whats the alternative - smiling whilst voting in the morning, lots of positive finger-crossing going on, gracious concession speech - doesn't seem very Trumpian does it?

You really don't think he wants every single vote he can get for the sake of his ego?

The correct answer to any poll question saying "Any chance Trump ________________?" is automatically yes.

Yeah, I spent $100 million of my own money.

How do you mean?  Trump has used his scampaign to recoup any initial costs.

The people who donated to Trump wasted that money.  Trump, as usual, will walk off with everything like a crook.
