If Dewey won in 1948 how would Stevenson fair against him in 1952?

Depends on 3 issues:
1. Korea
2. McCarthy
3. Inflation
These three things kiled Truman in 1952.

Also, Eisenhower might have decided he was a Democrat and ran in 1952.

Dewey would have been a competent and tough President in his first term, and in the eyes of the American public would have been deserving of re-election.
Stevenson would have met the same fate in 1952 against Dewey as he met against Eisenhower, a big defeat.

There wouldn't have been much difference between this and the actual Truman presidency; Dewey was pretty damn liberal (his foreign policy may have actually been weaker). I must say, though, that he doesn't look very "presidential":

You're right. That picture doesn't look very "presidential." He looks kind of like Howdy Doody here. I hope he didn't use this picture in the 1948 campaign. If he did, no wonder he lost.

Assuming the Korean War still happens, Dewey is defeated by Eisenhower in 1952. If not, Dewey beats Stevenson.
