For obvious reasons, much more an informal cabinet/adviser role. Almost more like a second vice president than a traditional first lady, but liely smart enough to keep it restrained enough not to upstage Hillary or Kaine.

Maybe like a Swiss-Army-knife type of adviser, where Hillary may ask Bill random questions every now and then about policy.

Would he participate in the tense, critical meetings with the highest-level aides of Hillary Clinton? Probably not, I guess, as that would probably take many tiring hours that neither Hillary nor Bill would want him to go through.

Other than the long meetings, though, he could give his help on practically anything that comes to mind...

So does that include Cabinet & NSC meetings; I could see Bill as an ex officio member of the NSC; as his counsel on foreign policy would be indispensable; sort of Hillary's own Bobby Kennedy. I can see him being the back channel guy.

Subjecting the country to a re-litigation of the late 90s when it inevitably comes out that he has had other affairs since leaving the White House in January 2001.

I imagine that he'll be forced to walk around on all fours and eat out of a dish.

I guess it would be OK to listen to the meetings remotely from the golf course.

Honestly, Bill will be more useful to Hillary if he is fresh and energized, rather than tired.

He could take several roles (Hillary's stand-in at important meetings, in charge of special presidential projects, informal congress liaison, etc.), but taking into account his age, health and the general "concern" that many voters may have to the Clintons, as a "Power Couple", the most likely role would be to act as Hillary's informal adviser and sounding board.

One thing is certain - whatever one may think of Bill, he will be the most "qualified" presidential spouse ever.

The First Laddy is likely to take some of the ceremonial duties that usually fall to the Vice President, but other than that any role he has will be purely advisory.

Of course he'd be more of an advisor. However what would he promote or show is the one thing I am curious.

He will fill the role of a high level advisor...if I had to make a prediction, I think Chelsea will take on some of the more traditional duties of the first lady.

She will do some stuff, but I think she's the kind of person that doesn't want to invoke herself too much in that.

When Hillary was First Lady she traveled the world on good will tours. (82 countries) Gave many speeches, attended ceremonies, met with world leaders, advanced U.S. interests.... Bill would be good at all of that and more.

One of the first things Bill will do is called Trump and thank him for running and then Donald will get tips from the Bill on how to "properly" use a cigar-:)

Let's be honest, he'll masculinize the position. Probably make it more advisory than anything.

For the sake of the American Presidency, he needs to be as anonymous and non-political as possible.

I'm pretty sure Chelsea will be the First Lady, and Bill will just be the President's Husband.

Let's face it kids!...this is unexplored territory; never before has there been a woman President, let alone her husband serving as President before.

Campaigning hard for the Democrats in the 2022 Midterms after it's revealed that President Clinton had an affair with a 20 year old (Male) Intern.

Which, by the way, would be awesome. Smiley
