My favorite Halloween themed movies are...well, obviously the first Halloween is a hugely important film. When I was young and into these things, I liked this franchise the least of the big 3 I think because it was actually scary. Freddy was a stand up comic and very supernatural/not realistic. Jason was way less funny and more....gritty and real, but if you watch the movies in order he's almost sympathetic. Michael Meyers is, at least in the first one, very realistic and very gritty.
I enjoyed ET when I was little, but that's only marginally a Halloween movie.
I recall this Hocus Pocus you speak of...the only thing I remember is cleavage, but that was a long time ago.
I've probably seen Nightmare Before Christmas more than any other Halloween themed movie because all my kids loved it.
Seems like we're forgetting something though....
