Where is the "Hell No" option?  While I think Chechnya should have originally been allowed to seek its independence, the situation today is such that the separatists there are clearly the worst option.

We are no way near that point. If it did, we would be calling for Russia to be partitioned after a nuclear war that we somehow "won".

Yes.  As awful as Putin is, there are worse things and the current separatists are among them.

You'd think that supporting Islamic extremists in a proxy war against Russia is a mistake the US will never make again.

No, because they hate us too. What we should do is build massive DMZ-type border defenses on the border between Russia & Latvia/Estonia (and probably on the Lithuanian/Polish border with Belarus for good measure), permanently base 20-30,000 US troops in those countries, bring Sweden into NATO, and arm Ukraine & Georgia.

Let's say Russia becomes a neutered country reduced to the core of its core European territories, no longer going from coast to coast and being downgraded to at best third largest by size, and with less power on the world stage than New Zealand. Small Tatar ethics nobody's heard of get their own nations, and these countries all have higher living standards than Russia. Finland gets its pre-WWII borders restored with more than double interest. Japan, Korea, China, Mongolia, tiny native Asiatic people group with per-industrial technology who eat ice, all generously help themselves to pieces of a big delicious pie.

In the unlikely situation that the above happens, Chechnya should remain under the Russian boot.

Even by BRTD's standards, this is one truly demented poll. Congratulations.

I knew how BRTD loses all sense of proportionality when he becomes obseses about a country he hates, but this seems too much even for him. If I didn't know better, I would consider this a subtle attempt at parodying himself.

And I'm certain that he's now regretting that he didn't name himself BDTR.
