http://syriancivilwarmap.com/watch-live-mosul-operation/

Two more feeds, I think they'really different. Plus, as its name implies, this website has some pretty great and detailed maps.

One question though: Are these tape-delayed? Because it looks like the middle of the day there, even though I think it's about 10pm in Iraq right now.

Not sure; also, there must be some serious OPSEC restrictions on that...

So was the Iraq invasion back in 2003, I still remember how CNN gave live coverage of the initial "Shock & Awe" bombing campaign.

I imagine its morbid curiousity and ex-military experience that draws that kind of crowd.

I remember when we landed in Somalia in 92.  The press was on the beaches as Marines landed....very surreal.  link

(the USMC PR guy half way through trying to explain to the morons in the press why what they were doing was stupid and dangerous and them laughing about it is strange)

I haven't actually tuned in yet, but is this actually going to be more than grainy black and white surveillance drone footage where all you see is a bunch of indistinguishable pickup trucks driving around?

Well isn't it cool when Counter Strike gets the 'real thrill'?

There would be a 'potential audience' for it.

Regardless the big conventional means engaged, it would really be a 'counter strike' war like moreover, just like most wars nowadays.

Well, not sure if French media are just discrete, careless, or whatever anyhow.

Oh and about the battle itself, crazy how that city has been taken within two hours by shouting from minarets while taking it back shows as one of the biggest military battle of the last decade or more so far.

Counter strike might need 'religious' update.

I hope the aftrrmath isn't as bloody as Fallujah. Unfortunately Shia militias never learn.
