It's ironic that Trump constantly says that President Obama doesn't know what he's doing when Trump is running perhaps the most incompetent presidential campaign in American history.

So they cut ties with state gop in Ohio and are now wasting money in a race which is all but over?

This just doesn't seem to make sense.  What do they know that we don't?

The only thing that comes to mind is the Warner-Gillespie race of 14.  Polls had Warner up 9-10 and he won by less than a point.

NH and AZ or even further investment in PA seem like better use of resources.

And people say that trump is good with money ....
LOL.
He might as well just burn all that cash he is spending in Virginia.
What a fool.

His supporters will spin this as some Machiavellian plot.

In the Senate race there two years ago, Warner led Gillespie two years ago by 9-10 points.  He won by a point.

Also, Senate polls in 2014 overstated Dem support by an average of 4 points in the last three weeks.

The $2 million buy is a head-scratcher to me as well, but perhaps they know something we don't.

ed gillespie was a good-pick in virginia, was able to run a sleeper campaign and since nobody counted on him, he nearly got away with it.

trump is a terrible pick for virginia, there are dozens of polls and dems secured virginia, while the whole state is crawling further to the left.

Arizona and Georgia are still kinda hot. And it's a longer flight home to his gold lame pillows and coke stash.

Perhaps there are more Trump family companies in Virginia that he can yugely overbill for rendering services to the campaign.

Today on MSNBC Chuck Todd as an aside talked about this ad buy, explaining the true story, saying:

Remember it was just a few weeks ago he did that "Obama was born in the US" publicity stunt at the same hotel.

I think he was making the point that Trump is trying to rebuild his brand in VA because the hotel is struggling. I suspect the ads are the usual pro Trump campaign ads.
