Today on MSNBC Chuck Todd as an aside talked about this ad buy, explaining the true story, saying:

Remember it was just a few weeks ago he did that "Obama was born in the US" publicity stunt at the same hotel.

I think he was making the point that Trump is trying to rebuild his brand in VA because the hotel is struggling. I suspect the ads are the usual pro Trump campaign ads.
