A couple of days ago, a user posted how to commission a survey with Google Consumer Survey and then weight the data to get an idea of the snapshot of the race.

Since Google Consumer surveys give $50 credit for signing up, anyone can pick a state and run a poll with 330 responses for no cost at all.

This megathread is for sharing the results of custom polls commissioned by Atlas users.

Is that a poll of Georgia?

You can always post images in the Atlas gallery.

Do you need to know the ins and outs of polling in order to do this, or does Google do it all for you?

If you click on the link to cinyc's survey (https://www.google.com/insights/consumersurveys/view?survey=aeydlbwif5ppmwicw6exhbb3zy&question=1) it should give you an option to redeem a 50$ coupon, this will lead you to a page where you can construct the survey for 50$ off. Just began a survey of Idaho.

You probably need to know how to weigh the results, because Google's weighted universe is Internet Users, not RVs or LVs.  Other than that, GCS does everything but write the question.

I'm doing a Tennessee poll, then.

Google does everything for you. but weighting the results will require some work. there was a google doc on other thread. I'll try to dig that up

My TN poll is not quite 10% complete yet (and will probably have to be weighted), but the results are really interesting and surprising.  More will come once I have more data to confirm or deny what I am seeing so far.

hmm. Given that this is coming from ER, I'm not sure whether to take this as an indication that Clinton is up 5, or down 50 Tongue

Since it's a personal curiosity, I submitted a Utah poll that will probably hit the field tomorrow for 330 responses.

These look great, but are those answering the survey able to see who is "sponsoring" it in any way? I would do this if totally anonymous, however I don't want hundreds of people seeing my first/last name and email.

No, it is that question that appears when you click on a news story on many websites.  I viewed a sample of my poll.

Hey, they changed the interface, removing some of the cross-tabs.  No more rural/suburban/urban tab.  The graphs look a little better, though.

But my poll got unweighted by Google all of a sudden.

Damn, looks like they also got rid of the $50 coupon.  I was about to run one for Iowa.  Sad

A little over 20% in.  What I said before appears to have been a false alarm.  The results now are looking interesting and telling, but not nearly as stunning.

Give us a hint. Smiley  Maybe like PPP sometimes does and suggest a D happiness level (or an R happiness level if you prefer).
