The race will tighten unless there is some major piece on Trump. The drip-drip nature of wikileaks emails and out of context reporting can be damaging over a sustained period of time.

Don't forget about the debate tomorrow. That'll be another buffer for about a week or so.

You say that yet it hasn't damaged her yet.

even while rick wilson and liz mair kept hinting about that stuff for weeks, i now start to wonder if the clinton camp themselves is in posession of anything else.

could there have been a better day than today for more?

Sure, but outside of the speeches there really hasn't been anything noteworthy to report on in the leaks.

Yes. 2-3 days after the debate. Clinton drops something less damaging Machado-style at the debate, then follow up with a big one on Sat/Sun.

After all, if Trump does damage her somehow at the debate, you wouldn't want that to overshadow any stuff that was put out there the day before. The best way to manage this would be on a weekly basis, so each story gets enough play. Look at what happened after the first debate - Trump had like a half dozen negative stories come out on him and none of them were able to really stick because they were so close together, and overshadowed by his obsession with Machado. It needs to be more spaced out, especially given how close we are to the election.

But, then again, she can't control the news, contrary to popular belief.

I'll agree here, anything that may be there would come after--once he can no longer use the debates to spew his garbage directly to the American viewers, and Clinton may also want to negate any damage that may come from things that are brought up at the debates if any is done.

Hopefully, yes. Ideally the biggest one should be dropped a week or so after the debate, so as to dominate the last two weeks of the campaign.

Perhaps, but at this point it's unlikely the race is going to tighten up at this late stage even if nothing else damaging comes out about Trump. Trump is mortally damaged and he's further damaging himself by claiming that there is massive voter fraud where there is none.

Count on it - and the closer to election day, the more likely.

It won't matter what drops from whom.

Voters are set. Polls have been pretty steady the entire time with Hillary ahead.

Debates suck.

We don't need no more stinkin' debates. Let's just vote and get this pain over with.

If they don't have anything else and Trump wins or ties tomorrow night, I do think the race will slow-bleed back to Clinton +2 again.

That wouldn't be slow at this point.

Trump can't just erase the past 3 weeks with a good performance on the 3rd debate. On top of that, Clinton has performed better than +2 far more than not.

I don't understand why so much credit is given to Trump, especially after what we've witnessed the past few weeks. Is this how low expectations are now? If Trump somehow ties in a debate, he gains 5-8 points? I mean come on. Too many people are acting like if Clinton doesn't hit it out of the park, somehow Trump automatically starts gaining bigly again.

If there's anything else it'll after the debate so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. If there's something huge (like the N-word or his currently being on coke) it'll come right before the election (a few days or a week) to nuke him at the last minute with no chance to recover. If Trump somehow gets momentum and makes the race a dead heat (which is a long shot at this point) something like that may get released earlier, though.

you are technically absolutely correct.

the question would be more if the trump tape shock is reducing itself again before election day....separated from any debate performance.

This debate, if I'm correct, is hosted by Fox--and they'll likely tailor the questions to do the most damage to Clinton and give the biggest boost to Trump--which is why I'm worried about how it will play out.

wallace was pretty warm with Jappa the Ailes, so I wouldn't count on it.

If Team Clinton manages to get their hands on those, I could see those being dropped the Thursday or Friday before election day.
